Hector Gonzalez’s involvement in Martial Arts began at the age of 25. Like most kids growing up his main sports were baseball and basketball. He played baseball at a college level and was drafted by the Atlanta Braves as a catcher his freshman year. There were many different disciplines that caught Hector’s attention but the one that stood out the most was Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Hector started his training with Renzo Gracie in March of 2002. Renzo personally taught Hector along with other instructors, which include Rafael “Gordinho” Correa, Fabio Leopoldo, John Danaher, Shawn Williams, Igor, Gregor and Rolles Gracie, Magno Gama, Rafael “Sapo” Natal, Neiman Gracie, Jose Chierighini, Jamal Patterson and Rob “Black Rob” Constance.
Once Hector received his purple belt he began to teach classes in Brooklyn NY. He became extremely dedicated to the Gentle Art and was able to achieve his Black Belt in July of 2009. He has been training for approximately 12 years and continues to train at the Renzo Gracie Academy, NYC. There he is constantly improving his skills as a BJJ practitioner, father, husband and friend.
Harry Delany – Harry holds a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under world renowned Master Renzo Gracie. During his years at the Renzo Gracie Academy in New York City, Harry has had the opportunity to train with and study under Renzo, Ricardo Almeida, Matt Serra, John Danaher, Ryan Gracie, Rolls Gracie, Igor Gracie, Gregor Gracie, Daniel Gracie, Rodrigo Gracie, Shawn Williams, and many mixed martial arts fighters and champions. Discovering BJJ later in life, Harry stresses the use of efficiency, leverage and technique over speed and strength. Harry teaches all level adult classes, and also specializes in BJJ over 40.
Aldrin So – Aldrin holds a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under world renowned Master Renzo Gracie. During his years at the Renzo Gracie Academy in New York City, Aldrin has had the opportunity to train with and study under many great champions of the sport, as well as mixed martial arts fighters and champions. Aldrin has been teaching at the main academy, and other affiliate academies for several years. Aldrin is known for his highly technical game, and his teaching ability. Aldrin will be on the schedule to teach adult classes.
Additional Renzo Gracie Instructors will also teach classes. We will also feature frequent seminars and special events with world class black belts and tournament champions.
